Vaccine bumps

December 8, 2019, 2:52 PM
Q: My 12 week old goldendoodle received his leptospirosis vaccine on December 5th. While I was petting him today I discovered a lump where it was injected. Is this normal? I am going to contact my vet first thing tomorrow morning but was wondering if anybody else has experienced this?
A: Bumps at the site of vaccination are common. If the are small (pea sized is common) and non painful you do not need to do anything. Almost all of them will regress over a period of up to 2 months.
