Disadvsntage to Spaying?

July 20, 2016, 6:25 PM
Q: We are considering having our cavachon spayed at five months of age. Can you tell me if there are any health drawbacks to having this surgery done at five months. Specifically, would this stunt her growth?
A: There are many more reasons to spay her between 5&6 months than not to. It will not stunt her growth. You should reduce her food intake by about 1/4 in the month after she is slated to avoid weight gain. Take a look at the video "Spaying and Neutering"
