Developing Mature Appetite

December 21, 2016, 7:10 PM
Q: My morkie is 8 months old and weighs 7.4 lbs. She used to eat 1/2 cup (Royal Canin) in three meals. At 6 months, I decreased it to 1/2 cup in 2 meals. In the past 2 weeks, I noticed she will eat her snacks/treats but SOMETIMES she only wants to eat 1 meal, preferably in the evening. Her liquid intake is adequate. Is this normal? and when should I be concern? Thanks.
A: A decrease in appetite at the end of her growing period is expected. As long as she feels good otherwise I would accommodate her. Is she spayed, if not has she come in heat?
